The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which has high spectral efficiency, is an attractive solution for silicon photomultiplier (SiPM)-based optical wireless communication (OWC) systems to boost data rates. However, the currently available SiPMs are not optimized implementing OFDM receiver. Incorporating different types of SiPM at receiver results in rates same condition. Therefore, designer requires a method predicting performance and then selects best one build optimum In this paper, we first investigate origin SiPM’s power-dependent response. investigation outcome used create subcarrier SNR. Combining estimated SNR with bit-loading scheme, finally propose general approach estimating fundamental rate chip can support given received power.
